1. Pre-Surgical Phase

The pre-surgical phase involves comprehensive planning and preparation:

• Initial consultation and evaluation3D X-rays and digital jaw scans to assess bone density and structure

• Development of a personalized treatment planTooth extraction (if necessary)

• Bone grafting (if required) to ensure adequate jawbone support

This phase can take several weeks to months, depending on individual needs and healing time required after extractions or bone grafts.

2. Surgical Phase

The surgical phase focuses on implant placement:

• Placement of the titanium implant into the jawboneLocal anesthesia is typically used
• Dr. Hyvel makes an incision in the gum to expose the boneA hole is drilled into the bone, and the implant is inserted

• The gum is then closed over the implant

This phase is followed by a healing period of several months to allow for osseointegration, where the bone grows around and fuses with the implant.

3. Restorative Phase

The final phase involves completing the visible part of the implant:

• Placement of the abutment (a connector piece) onto the implant

• Taking impressions for the creation of the final restoration (crown, bridge, or denture)Attachment of the final restoration to the abutment

• This phase typically occurs 3-6 months after the implant placement, once osseointegration is complete.

The entire process from start to finish can take anywhere from 3 to 9 months or longer, depending on individual circumstances and healing times
